Starting this website was a necessity for me. When I first started finding deals I would always wonder should I send them to everyone? or just the people I think they’ll apply to? And it was a constant debate.
For example, should I send diaper discounts to everyone or just the moms who I know have infants? surely other people on my email list had moms in their lives who could benefit from diaper coupons? And that’s how the email flooding began.
Well, now that I have this site I find deals everywhere. And I end up with a lot of free stuff.
1) Donate what you don’t use
We all think that charity has to be big. It doesn’t. If you see a CVS ad for free bodywash and you don’t use bodywash who cares? Take it and drop it off at your local church or shelter. Same goes for samples, extra food, etc. If you are one of those people who doesn’t like to give just one small thing at a time, stick a box or bag in your garage or in a corner somewhere (please keep toiletry items separate from food items- cereal that tastes like Dial soap is disgusting). I guarantee the items will start adding up fast once you see things as charitable possibilities instead of just an item you don’t use.
I personally take my extras to the Second Harvest Food Bank. They are nationwide so click HERE to find one near you.
2) Donate Coupons to U.S. Soldiers Abroad
A lot of us have seen the light about clipping coupons. Yes it takes some time but it can literally save you a fortune. And with the coupons.com coupon bar on the right you have no excuse for not having access to coupons!
Still, no matter how you play it you eventually end up with a stack of coupons you’ll never use either because you don’t use that product or the coupon is expired. SAVE THEM. I donate my expired coupons to our military families overseas. US military bases accept coupons for up to 2 months after the expiration date. Yes, I pay for an envelope and shipping once a month or so but it’s a cheap way to help soldiers who don’t get paid very much and often raise a young family besides.
